- Kevin Keegan resigned from Newcastle. Eight months after taking the boss’ chair for the second time at Newcastle, Keegan has announced his resignation. 'It's my opinion that a manager must have the right to manage and that clubs should not impose upon any manager any player that he does not want.'
'It remains my fervent wish to see Newcastle United do well in the future and I feel incredibly sorry for the players, staff and most importantly the supporters. I have been left with no choice other than to leave.'
- Tottenham head coach, Juande Ramos feels strongly about his squad saying, 'I have little doubt that we have a squad of greater overall quality now than when I began at this club a year ago,'
'And by the end of the season our results will have proved this to be the case.
'I know there is much debate about our striker options, but I look at the whole picture and not just a like-for-like exchange.
'I want creativity and attacking flair from many parts of the pitch.'
